Seventy-seven million Americans supported President Donald Trump and a Republican majority with the aim of cutting taxes, securing borders, revitalizing the economy, and prioritizing working families. This is according to U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-Brandon), who expressed these views in an op-ed for The Hill.
Buchanan emphasized the significance of the “One Big, Beautiful Bill,” stating that it fulfills these promises and marks what he calls “the beginning of the Golden Age of America.”
The bill makes permanent changes to the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. It removes federal income taxes on tips and overtime pay, allocates $75 billion in relief for seniors, ensures permanence for small business deductions, and reduces tax rates for working families.
As Vice Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, Buchanan was instrumental in shaping this tax and budget package. He also led a letter with 11 Florida Republicans advocating for swift approval of the bill to provide tax relief to Floridians and bolster Florida’s economy.
