U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-Brandon) has expressed his support for the recent Gaza peace agreement, calling it a major achievement for American foreign policy and stability in the Middle East.
“This agreement would not have been possible without the strength, resolve and moral clarity President Trump brings to the world stage. His peace deal is a historic win for America’s ‘peace through strength’ agenda and long-term stability in the Middle East. We will never forget the innocent lives lost on October 7, and we will continue standing shoulder to shoulder with Israel against terror, hate and antisemitism,” Buchanan said.
Buchanan has represented Florida’s 16th congressional district since 2007, after succeeding Katherine Harris. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Florida House of Representatives. Buchanan was born in Detroit, Michigan, in 1951 and currently resides in Sarasota. He holds degrees from Cleary University and the University of Detroit Mercy.
