Since January 1, U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-Brandon) and his team have recovered $8.1 million for residents of Florida’s 16th Congressional District that had been withheld by federal agencies.
“I am proud to announce that through our office’s casework efforts, my team and I have successfully recovered $8.1 million previously withheld by federal agencies for Florida’s 16th District residents since January 1st,” said Buchanan. “These are benefits that my constituents have earned through years of service, hard work and dedication. Whether it’s a veteran finally receiving long-overdue VA benefits, a senior resolving a Social Security dispute or assisting a small business owner in securing an Employee Retention Credit refund, my team is committed to cutting through red tape and advocating on my constituents’ behalf. If you or someone you know is having difficulty resolving an issue with a federal agency, such as the VA, IRS, SBA or Social Security, please contact my Bradenton or Brandon office. I am committed to ensuring your government works for you!”
The funds returned include $6.6 million in owed IRS benefits, $1.3 million in owed Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits, and $260,000 in owed Social Security benefits.
