For his performance in the final contest of the 2022 season, sophomore Ryan Cunningham has been named the Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
Against the No. 15 ranked Bobcats of St. Thomas, the defensive back recorded 15 tackles including six solo, doing his part to give the Fire a chance at the late-game comeback victory after holding the Bobcat offense to 20.
The sophomore also recorded a pass breakup.
The Fire concluded their season with a 6-4 overall record and 2-3 Sun Conference Record.
