Job Overview
The Manager of Consulting Outreach, reporting to the Manager of Entrepreneur Services, performs highly responsible professional duties related to providing customized small business consulting services across the County in the form of one-on-one consulting and workshops. This position develops technical and highly specialized information for customers to drive results, and as such requires current knowledge of business operations and market trends. The principal duties of the position include coordinating and implementing projects or programs that support the growth of small businesses, coordination with industry partners and outside consultants, data analysis, program compliance, and development of customer base.
Ideal Candidate
The Economic Development Department’s Entrepreneur Services unit of Hillsborough County is seeking an experienced business consultant to provide professional consultations and support in all aspects of business operations to small businesses within Hillsborough County. The ideal candidate must be a self-starting, and independently motivated professional with a strong financial background preferably with previous bank lending experience and have a minimum of five years of experience in consulting and assisting existing businesses. The ideal candidate will possess project management, and workshop facilitation skills, and the ability to provide excellent customer service. The ideal candidate has clear and efficient written and oral communication skills, excellent time management and organizational skills, and have demonstrated experience helping small businesses; improving operations and helping businesses obtain needed financing. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering quality work and adhering to the highest level of confidentiality in information dissemination and impartiality in decision making.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in economic development, education, economics, business administration, planning, engineering, public administration, research or a related field that provides knowledge necessary for small business development services, or related field; AND
- 3 years to 5 years in Economic Development, Planning, Small Business Development, Engineering, Real Estate or a related field.
Salary Range: $49,504.00 – $65,582.40 Annually
