Today, the House passed the “One Big, Beautiful Bill,” which aims to provide significant tax cuts and economic relief. Congressman Buchanan expressed his satisfaction with the passage, highlighting its benefits for various groups in America.
Buchanan stated, “Today is a great day for American families, workers, seniors, children, servicemembers and small businesses.” He emphasized his role on the House Ways and Means Committee in delivering what he described as the largest tax cut in U.S. history. The bill seeks to make permanent the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, enhance the child tax credit, offer relief to seniors on fixed incomes, and strengthen Medicaid.
The legislation also includes Buchanan’s priorities such as easing homeownership burdens, ending taxes on tips, and making the small business deduction permanent for over 30 million job creators. He described it as “the definition of promises made and promises kept.”
Buchanan criticized Democrats for opposing the bill. He said they voted “for higher taxes on the American people” while Republicans chose “economic prosperity, security and relief for hardworking Americans.”
As Vice Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, Buchanan recently led a letter with 11 Florida Republicans advocating for swift passage of this bill to benefit Floridians economically.
