Residents wanting to adopt or foster have a new number to call: (813) 301-PETS (7387). Appointments are no longer necessary.

Just in time for Spring Break, the number for the Pet Resource Center is now separate from the phone number for Animal Control. This will increase efficiency and reduce confusion and wait time. The number for Animal Control remains (813) 744-5660.

To celebrate, PRC will put on a Spring Break Adoption Event to encourage residents to have some fun in the sun with their pet.

On March 11 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., PRC will have a host of fun spring break activities that include:

  • Playgroups running in the backyard so adopters can see their potential new pups in action
  • Goodie bags so visitors can pass out treats while they walk the kennels
  • Beach balls for all visitors
  • Waived adoption fees

With so many wonderful, furry friends on display, PRC is sure that you’ll find the next perfect addition to your home. Now that appointments are no longer necessary, it has never been easier for residents to adopt or foster dogs and cats, look for lost pets, receive information on spay and neuter voucher programs for low-income residents, and discover new volunteer opportunities. Information and photos of your newest best friend can be viewed at HCFLGov.net/PRCkennel. All dogs and cats are vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and microchipped.

In addition to the new number, residents can contact the Pet Resource Center at PetInfo@HCFLGov.net.
