Rep. Vern Buchanan, U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 16th district since 2007, addressed a range of issues in a series of posts on September 24 and 25, 2025. The topics included child protection initiatives, political violence against law enforcement, and support for the maritime industry.
On September 24, Buchanan highlighted his recent meeting with Steve Simons, founder of Bloom Safe. In his post he stated: “Recently met with Steve Simons, founder of Bloom Safe, to discuss their work to end child sexual abuse.
We must protect children and their families, which is why I introduced bills to educate students and teachers about trafficking risks and ban the sale of lifelike child sex https://t.co/t89hMJyyn7” (posted September 24, 2025).
Later that day, Buchanan commented on an attack targeting Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers in Dallas: “The deadly attack on @ICEgov in Dallas is yet another act of political violence. Unacceptable.
Our brave ICE officers put their lives on the line to protect the American people. Please join me and Sandy in praying for the victims and their families.
