His posts highlighted his commitment to advancing legislation that supports small businesses and benefits his constituents.
On July 2, 2025, Buchanan expressed enthusiasm about voting in favor of the “One Big, Beautiful Bill” in the nation’s capital. He stated, “It’s a big, beautiful day here in our nation’s capital. I’m walking on to the House floor to vote YES on the ‘One Big, Beautiful Bill’ and send it to @POTUS’s desk to become law.”
Later that day, he emphasized his dedication to supporting entrepreneurs by advocating for permanent small business deductions within the bill. He noted how this would impact nearly 100,000 small businesses in his district: “I’m fighting to keep the American Dream alive for all entrepreneurs working to grow their businesses, like John in Bradenton.”
In another update on July 2nd, Buchanan participated in Media Row with fellow members of @HouseGOP. He discussed how the proposed legislation would benefit various groups across America: “Great to join @HouseGOP’s Media Row to discuss how the ‘One Big, Beautiful Bill’ will deliver for Florida’s 16th District.”
Vern Buchanan has served as a representative since succeeding Katherine Harris in 2007 and previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Detroit and currently residing in Sarasota at age 71, Buchanan is an alumnus of Cleary University and the University of Detroit Mercy.
