Rep. Vern Buchanan, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 16th district since 2007, recently shared updates on infrastructure and health care initiatives in Florida through a series of posts on his social media account.
On March 31, 2026, Buchanan highlighted the importance of infrastructure to Florida’s development. He stated, “Strong infrastructure supports Florida’s continued growth. I recently met with Moss & Associates to discuss their projects across the state and thank them for their partnership in strengthening our local economy and creating jobs here in Florida.”
Later that day, Buchanan expressed support for changes in health care practices. In his post from March 31, he wrote, “This is how we Make America Healthy Again. Putting REAL food at the center of care means better outcomes, lower costs and healthier communities. Proud to support @HHSGov’s leadership.”
Addressing concerns about the nation’s health care system, Buchanan added in another post on March 31: “Our health care system is backwards—we’re reacting instead of being proactive. You must be the CEO of your own health and focus on prevention. My ASAP Act helps detect Alzheimer’s earlier so patients and families can act sooner.”
Buchanan has served as a member of Congress since replacing Katherine Harris in 2007 and previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Detroit in 1951, he currently resides in Sarasota. He holds degrees from Cleary University and the University of Detroit Mercy.
