Later that day, Buchanan recognized the opening of a new high school in Hillsborough County. On August 11 he posted: “Hillsborough County is one of the largest school districts in the nation, and I’m proud to see Aquilla J. Morgan High School open in Wimauma. I will always fight to support our students, empower parents and invest in our children’s education.”
That evening he acknowledged local law enforcement during an annual awards event: “Honored to recognize over 50 of our area’s finest at the 15th Annual Congressional Law Enforcement Awards. Thank you to every officer who puts on the badge to protect and serve FL-16.”
