Rep. Vern Buchanan, who represents Florida’s 16th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on November 4, 2025, addressing local community efforts and national events.
In a post from November 4, Buchanan promoted a food distribution event in Bradenton: “Don’t miss the Food Bank of Manatee’s drive through food distribution TODAY in Bradenton. If you or a neighbor have been impacted by the Democrat Shutdown and need support, stop by:
 Dream Church, 1820 53rd Ave. W, Bradenton
 4–6 PM”
Later that day, Buchanan paid tribute to former Vice President Cheney following news of his passing: “Vice President Cheney was a patriot who loved this country and fought hard to protect it.
Sandy and I are praying for his wife Lynne and their entire family during this difficult time.”
In another message on November 4, he described his visit to the Food Bank of Manatee: “Great to tour the Food Bank of Manatee, where staff and volunteers are working around the clock to help those in need.
With SNAP benefits frozen under the Democrat Shutdown, food banks are stepping up. No family should have to wonder when their next meal is coming.”
Vern Buchanan has represented Florida’s 16th District in Congress since 2007 after serving in the Florida House of Representatives. He succeeded Katherine Harris in Congress and resides in Sarasota after being born in Detroit in 1951. Buchanan holds degrees from Cleary University (1975) and University of Detroit Mercy (1986).
