U.S. Representative Vern Buchanan, who has served Florida’s 16th district in Congress since 2007, used his social media platform over the Labor Day period to highlight Republican legislative initiatives and job growth under current leadership.
On September 1, 2025, Buchanan stated, “This Labor Day, Republicans delivered for the American worker. @HouseGOP’s “One Big, Beautiful Bill” provides “no tax on tips” for 68 different jobs, cutting taxes for millions of working-class families. See if you qualify: https://t.co/Mb5G57Mn4c”.
The following day, he acknowledged President Biden’s efforts regarding employment: “.@POTUS is keeping his promise to put American workers first. Over half a million new private sector jobs have been created since he took office. That’s what real leadership looks like. https://t.co/349RkfMetP” (September 2, 2025).
On September 3, Buchanan cited an analysis from the Congressional Budget Office to emphasize recent GOP health care legislation: “.@USCBO’s recent analysis confirms that Republicans’ working families tax cut put a stop to reckless Democrat health care policies and restores accountability to a broken system. Republicans are protecting health care integrity. https://t.co/8ugEESYzIS https://t.co/9hh8Nkr9HC”.
Vern Buchanan replaced Katherine Harris as representative of Florida’s 16th district in 2007 and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Detroit in 1951 and now residing in Sarasota, Buchanan graduated from Cleary University and later earned a degree from the University of Detroit Mercy.
