Rep. Vern Buchanan, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 16th district since 2007, has used his social media platform to highlight recent legislative actions and economic projections he attributes to the work of House Republicans.
On January 10, 2026, Buchanan posted: “.@USCBO now projects stronger economic growth driven by @HouseGOP’s Working Families Tax Cuts. Bigger paychecks, job creation and increased investment in 2026 show that pro-worker, pro-growth tax policy work.”
The following day, January 11, he addressed housing policy in another post: “The American Dream starts with owning a home. As @HouseGOP works to fix Biden’s housing failures, this week we voted for the Affordable HOMES Act to lower housing costs, building on my provisions already signed into law to help families buy a home.”
On January 12, Buchanan continued promoting House GOP initiatives aimed at workers: “This is what putting workers first looks like. @HouseGOP passed the Working Families Tax Cuts, delivering up to a $7,200 increase in real wages for hardworking Americans, delivering: Stronger job growth Rising incomes A more prosperous economy for American families”
Buchanan replaced former U.S. Congress member Katherine Harris in 2007 and has served continuously since then. He previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives and was born in Detroit in 1951 before moving to Sarasota. Buchanan holds degrees from Cleary University and the University of Detroit Mercy.
