The Basics
The Zoom-based series begins Aug. 31 at 6 p.m. with the aptly named How to Become a Titan webinar. In this installment, SPC’s Recruiting team offers guidance on programs of study, application questions and anything one might be wondering about SPC.
“Getting started with any college program begins with knowing what you want to do for your career,” Wortock said. “We’ll show what we have to offer at SPC and that we have trained advisors who can help students decide on a path. We also know that the application process can be a barrier to some students, and we want to make this process as easy as possible.”
Get Enrolled
The second webinar, Focus on Enrollment, will be held a couple of days later on Sept. 2 at 6 p.m. SPC’s Enrollment Specialists will offer all the details and answer questions on residency requirements, transcript requests and testing needed for enrollment.
SPC Director of Student Affairs Christine Costello said these topics are subjects that top the list of call topics at SPC’s Call Center.
“This session focuses on three areas that could prevent students from receiving financial aid, have them paying higher tuition, or prevent them from being able to enroll in classes,” Costello said. “We want to provide clear communication to make sure these steps are completed.”
Be Advised
The third installment in the series, on Sept. 9 at 6 p.m., will focus on Registration and Advising. Attendees will learn how to find the classes they need, will be able to explore the Virtual Advising Center, and more.
“We want every new and returning student to feel confident in the process of registering for classes and knowing that they are on the right path,” Wortock said. “This webinar will serve as a great introduction and will connect people with the support system they will have during their time at SPC.”
The three webinars will all have time for a question-and-answer period, so if there’s a question not covered on the agenda, it can still be answered.
“We get tons of great questions during these live webinars, and a team of SPC staff will be on hand to answer them live or in a chat system, or we’ll follow up individually with questions that may fall outside of the specific topic area of the webinar,” Wortock said. “Titans Live is here to meet students where they are, so we hope people will come chat with our experts and take the next step toward an education.”
