University of Tampa issued the following announcement on Sept. 6.
University of Tampa women's cross country star Zoe Jarvis has been honored as the Sunshine State Conference Runner of the Week, announced Monday by the league office.
Jarvis takes Runner of the Week honors after opening the 2021 season with a first-place finish at the Valdosta State Border Clash. The Tampa native finished over 15 seconds ahead of her closest competition, winning her fifth career race as a Spartan. Jarvis is now a two-time champion of the Valdosta State Border Clash, as she also finished first in 2018. Her performance guided Tampa to a second-place finish in the team standings. The weekly award is the sixth of her career.
Sunshine State Conference athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of August 30 - September 5, 2021. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
