University of Tampa issued the following announcement on Sept. 13.
University of Tampa men's soccer goalkeeper Adam Forster was recognized as the Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week following a pair of shutouts in weekend matches for the Spartans.
Forster receives Defensive Player of the Week honors after recording five saves in goal last week. He recorded four saves in the 4-0 win over West Alabama and tallied a crucial save in the 3-0 victory over Clayton State. His dominance in goal last week gave the Spartans their third straight shutout.
Sunshine State Conference athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of September 6 – 12, 2021. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
