Southeastern University recently issued the following announcement.
The NAIA has announced the 2021 Preseason Baseball All-America Team on Monday, ahead of the 2022 campaign. For the second consecutive year, Southeastern University senior shortstop Sam Faith was among those recognized.
The 17-player list is selected annually by the NAIA-Baseball Coaches Association (NAIA-BCA) All-America Committee.
Four starting pitchers are included as well as one relief pitcher while the infield list included all four bases covered in addition to two behind the dish. The outfield features four players and the last two spots go to a utility player and a designated hitter.
Faith was a Second Team NAIA All-American in the spring semester, after hitting .411 throughout the 2021 season with 62 runs scored, 20 doubles, two triples, 12 home runs, and 54 RBIs. Faith was also First Team All-SUN, as well as a member of the SUN Gold Glove Team.
