City of Largo Has Critical Need for Summer Camp Counselors; $300 in Incentives Available for New Hires

The City of Largo needs your help in serving our community. Summer camps are set to start in June, yet it may not be the number of summer camps our community has come to expect from Largo's Recreation Department. There is a critical need for Summer Camp Leaders aged 18 and up to help provide a fun and safe summer for children in our community.

"Childcare is essential for working parents, especially during the summer months," said Krista Pincince, Largo Recreation, Parks, & Arts Department Director. "Currently, the City of Largo only has only received half the number of applications as the number of positions that need to be filled. If we are unable to hire as many summer camp counselors as possible, the number of children that we serve will have to be reduced."

Largo Summer Camp Leaders can enjoy a fun job with great hours that keep nights and weekends free, and an opportunity to meet new friends while building their resumes. In addition, new hires who complete the entire 10 weeks of summer camp with Largo Recreation are eligible to receive up to $300 in incentives.

"Many staff that worked for our summer camps have said that it is the best job they have ever had,” said Director Pincince. "As a young adult, you can have fun while impacting the lives of the children registered in the program."

From a variety of field trips to outdoor games, Largo Summer Camps are second to none. Our awesome Summer Camp Leaders are part of the reason why parents choose our camps over others.
