In expectation of a high number of kittens, residents can visit the pet shelter to learn how to adopt and care for them.
Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center (PRC) will host a Kitten Shower in expectation of an increase in the arrival of kittens at its facility. The Kitten Shower will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 30 at the Pet Resource Center, 440 N. Falkenburg Rd., Tampa, FL 33619.
To make room for the incoming animals, all adoption fees will be waived. Those who attend Saturday's event can walk through and view animals, including dogs, that are currently at PRC. Kittens must be eight weeks old before they can be adopted and taken home. Staff will be on hand to answer questions, and a potential new family member can be met then. In addition to viewing a potential pet, participants can join classes on how to serve as a foster parent for kittens or dogs, and how to care for a kitten.
There will be giveaways, a bake sale, and the opportunity to make pet- enrichment toys at the event. In addition, a Hillsborough County fire truck will be at PRC from 11 a.m. to noon for kids to see and enjoy. Donations will be accepted to help prepare for the upcoming baby (kitten) season.
