Wimauma Community Collection Center Expanding Operations to Six Days a Week

New Monday through Saturday hours start Sept. 6

Starting Tuesday, Sept. 6, residential solid waste customers in southern Hillsborough County can drop off materials every Monday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Wimauma Community Collection Center (CCC), located at 16180 West Lake Dr., Wimauma, FL 33598. Hillsborough County Solid Waste Management is expanding operations to six days a week at this location in response to increased customer usage.

Items accepted at the Wimauma CCC include limited quantities of:

  • Paint
  • Household electronics
  • Automotive, marine, lithium-ion, and rechargeable batteries
  • Passenger vehicle tires
  • Recyclable material, including cardboard, dry paper and paperboard, aluminum and steel cans, clean and empty plastic bottles and containers, and glass bottles and jars
  • Appliances and bulk waste items that will not fit in a residential garbage cart, such as sofas, mattresses, chairs, refrigerators, washing machines, and recreation equipment
As part of their annual solid waste assessment, Hillsborough County residential solid waste customers can dispose up to 10 cubic yards (about 3,000 pounds) of solid waste materials that aren't collectible at the curb per year at County Solid Waste facilities at no additional cost.

Things to know before you go

  • Bring a photo ID showing the residential address of the property owner and a printed or digital copy of your annual Hillsborough County Property Tax Bill showing your current solid waste assessments.
  • No dump trailers are allowed at the community collection centers.
