The City of Largo is set to break ground Tuesday, October 18 at 4pm on the new Horizon West Bay project coming to Downtown Largo. City officials will join the project architect, ASD│SKY and Biltmore Construction for a brief ceremony denoting the commencement of a truly unique mixed-use project. Following brief remarks from key stakeholders, including Mayor Woody Brown and City Manager, Henry Schubert, the City will conduct a formal throwing of dirt at the property located between the 400-500 north block of West Bay Drive.
This key project is a commitment to creating the active and interconnected Downtown Largo residents have asked for through years of community outreach and feedback. The project will include a covered parking garage with over 350 spaces and 18,000 sq feet of retail/commercial space. The City’s vision is to welcome coffee shops, restaurants, and small retailers that will serve the community. This building will also house municipal services such as building permits and inspections. Horizon West Bay is planned to be open in late 2024.
To ensure the community is informed on project details, construction impact, and detour routes, the City has launched HorizonWestBay.com. Here visitors can view project renderings, see traffic studies, and view a project timeline. Community members can also stay up-to-date on Downtown projects by signing up for the Downtown eNewsletter.
