Sophomore Marlie Smit used a five-under 31 on the front nine at Grasslands to come away with a three-shot win at the SEU Fall Invitational on Tuesday.
The Fire also won team honors, posting rounds of 304, 295, and 297 to win by 35 shots.
Smit led the field in Par 3 and Par 4 scoring, averaging 2.92 on the Par 3s and 3.97 on the Par 4s and totaling -1 on each. The sophomore posted an even-par 72 in the second round on Monday after opening with a 76. Tuesday started rough with a pair of bogeys and a double on the back, but Smit birdied the seventh, eighth, and ninth for the victory.
Freshman Madelyn Campbell ended Monday in a tie for the lead after rounds of 77 and 71 and finished second after a 74 on Tuesday. Campbell was the co-leader in the field in Par 5 scoring at 4.92, playing those holes at -1.
Hallie Riley finished fourth, also averaging 4.92 on the Par 5s and finishing with two rounds of 76 on Monday and a 75 on Tuesday. Maria Stephens tied for seventh with a 54-hole total of 230 (77-76-77), and Alejandra Cuellar was tied for 11th at 233 (75-79-79).
Abigail McNeil finished 10th playing as an individual with a total of 231 (81-75-75).
