Excitement is in the air this season! Check out these recent accomplishments from some of our amazing Fire Athletics teams.
Men’s Basketball
On February 25, the Fire Men’s Basketball team became Sun Conference Tournament Champions for the third time in program history!
Men’s Indoor Track
The men’s indoor track team won the program’s first national championship in Brookings, South Dakota, this past Saturday, March 4. It’s the third team NAIA National Championship in school history (the first two were SEU Fire Baseball in 2018 and again in 2022).
Winning individual National Championships along the way were Joseph Taylor in the 400m and the 4 x 400 team of Davien Worrels, Keishon Franklin, James Turner, and Taylor. After the meet, coach Nick Dodson was named NAIA National Coach of the Year in men’s indoor track!
Wrestling
At the NAIA Wrestling Championship in Wichita, Kansas, junior Sal Silva won the National Championship at 157 lbs.! It was the fourth individual title for the wrestling program in the last three years. Additionally, the team finished third in the tournament for the third straight year.
