In the first two meets of the outdoor season, Southeastern had numerous NAIA qualifying standards recorded during the USF Bulls Invitational and UCF Black and Gold Challenge.

In Tampa, the men recorded nine 'A' Standards and the women picked up four more which included qualifying a pair of relay teams.

On the men's side, the Fire posted the top three times in the NAIA in the 200 Meters with James Williamson III placing seventh in a time of 21.12, Davien Worrels eighth in 21.2, and Keishon Franklin 15th in 21.38. Worrels and Franklin both posted 'A' Standards and Franklin hit the 'B' Standard.

Williamson III also hit the 'A' Standard in the 100 Meters in 10.38 and Franklin posted an 'A' Standard in the 400 Meters, winning the event in 47.28 over Texas freshman Chris Brinkley by just over a quarter of a second. Worrels was sixth in the 400 in a 'B' Standard time of 48.39.

In the 110 Hurdles, Davonte Vanterpool was second in 13.65 for the top time in the NAIA thus far. Minnesota's Michael Buchanan won the event by one hundredth of a second. Darion Carter was fourth in 14.2 seconds and Glenn Rodgers was seventh in 14.35 seconds with all hitting the 'A' Standard.

Also hitting the 'A' Standard was the 4x400 Relay of Worrels, Franklin, James Turner, and Joseph Taylor in 3:11.26 to finish second to Ohio State by just over two seconds.

The final 'A' Standard went to Kyle Manuel in the Shot Put with a mark of 16.53 meters to finish 11th.

On the women's side, Namiah Simpson posted an 'A' Standard time of 56.5 in the 400 Meters to finish ninth. She also ran third leg of the 4x100 Relay, joining Irmiris Mendez, Oluwafikayomi Lawrence, and Toni Canfall to post an 'A' Standard time of 46.42 to finish seventh.

The 4x400 Relay team of Tenae Grigsby, Lawrence, Mendez, and Simpson was fifth in 3:49.97.

Grigsby was fourth in the 400 Hurdles in 1:00.42 for an 'A' Standard time and 10th in the 100 Hurdles in a 'B' Standard time of 14.46. Canfall was 12th in the 100 Meters for a 'B' Standard time of 11.93. Lawrence added a 'B' Standard in the 400 Meters in 12th place at 57.14.

Mariam Davis hit the 'B' Standard in the High Jump at 1.65 meters.

At UCF, Julia Rohm hit the 'B; Standard in the 5,000 Meters in 17:33 to finish fourth.

The Fire will return to Orlando next weekend for the UCF Knights Invitational.
