Southeastern University sophomore sprinter Joseph Taylor was selected as the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Men’s Track Athlete of the Week for his performance at the Jimmie Carnes Invitational last Friday.

The New Orleans native picked up three first-place finishes at the first meet at the Alachua County Sports Complex and posted three NAIA ‘A’ Standards.
 
In the 400 Meters, Taylor took first in a time of 47.7 for the second-best time nationally and defeated the No. 1 runner in the event. He also took gold in the 200 Meters in a time of 21.58, and was key to SEU’s comeback win in the 4×400 Relay in a time of 3:16.81 to defeat USF’s A and B squads.

The Fire return to action tomorrow at the RADD Sports Invitational in Gainesville.
