The University of Tampa honored alumni Joseph Monteforte ’15, Raymond Mohler ’20 and Wil White ’20 with awards last night by UT’s John P. Lowth Entrepreneurship Center for their professional and personal achievements.

Mohler won the Social Entrepreneur Award. He is the founder and CEO of the Little Saint Nick Foundation, a nonprofit organization that serves hospitalized children.

Monteforte and White both won the Young Entrepreneur Award. Monteforte is the co-founder and managing partner of Alpine Solutions Group, a recruitment company, and White is the southeast executive director of the Little Saint Nick Foundation.

This year marks the return of the Lowth Center Alumni Awards event after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, and Dean Koutroumanis, associate director of the center and professor of management, says they are thrilled to be hosting the ceremony live for the 10th time.

“This is a very special event for the Lowth Center as it celebrates the entrepreneurial accomplishments of our alumni,” said Koutroumanis. “At the same time, it is an amazing opportunity for our current students to meet and network with our alumni.”

This year’s attendance at the event on campus was approximately 200 people.

The Lowth Center, part of the Sykes College of Business, is located within the Daly Innovation and Collaboration Building at UT. The space is creatively designed to bring together prospective student entrepreneurs, educators and experienced executives to generate, define and develop entrepreneurial concepts and to launch new ventures.

UT’s entrepreneurship major is one of the largest on campus and provides students with skills that are critical for anyone who wants to be an entrepreneur or think like one.
