UT Highlighted for Top Undergrad Business and Nursing Programs

The University of Tampa is again ranked by U.S. News & World Report in the top tier in the category Best Regional Universities (South) in its 2022-2023 U.S. News Best Colleges rankings.

The Sykes College of Business and UT’s nursing program were also named as top undergraduate programs, which are based solely on the judgments of deans and senior faculty members at peer institutions.

UT was named in four lists for regional universities, including 1) Best Value Schools; 2) A+ Schools for B Students; 3) Top Performers on Social Mobility; and 4) Best Colleges for Veterans.

For the “Best Value Schools,” rankings were based on schools’ academic quality and cost after accounting for total expenses and financial aid.

In the “A+ Schools for B Students” list, schools were ranked on six variables, including the school’s performance in the “Best Colleges 2022-2023” ranking, the average freshman retention rate and admittance of a meaningful proportion of students who didn’t get straight A’s.

Schools named as “Top Performers on Social Mobility” are ones that enrolled and graduated students who received federal Pell Grants.

The “Best Colleges for Veterans” list names schools that offer benefits that can make pursuing a college education more affordable for veterans and active-duty service members. These include schools being certified for the GI Bill and schools that participate in the Yellow Ribbon program.

The “Best Colleges” guidebook can be pre-ordered in the U.S. News Store. It will ship in early October.
