Buchanan has represented Florida’s 16th District since succeeding Katherine Harris in Congress in 2007 after serving previously in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Detroit in 1951 and currently residing in Sarasota at age 71, he holds degrees from Cleary University and the University of Detroit Mercy.
