Vern Buchanan, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 16th district since 2007, shared his recent engagements and views on social media. Buchanan, who has a background in both the Florida House of Representatives and business education from Cleary University and the University of Detroit Mercy, addressed issues ranging from veteran support to healthcare reform.

On June 17, 2025, Buchanan expressed his honor in meeting with leaders from the Florida Gulf Coast Chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America. He emphasized the importance of congressional support for veterans nationwide. In his post, he stated: “Honored to meet with leaders from the Florida Gulf Coast Chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America (@PVAFGC) to discuss how Congress can better support veterans nationwide.”

Later that day, Buchanan joined Senator Peter Welch to address concerns about the current state of healthcare in America. He criticized excessive spending and highlighted the need for improved access and affordability. Buchanan remarked: “Great to join my friend @SenPeterWelch to discuss our broken health care system.”
