Rep. Vern Buchanan, who represents Florida’s 16th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on his social media account highlighting recent legislative achievements, constituent services, and recognition of the U.S. Air Force.
On September 18, 2025, Buchanan acknowledged the role of the U.S. Air Force by stating: “The @usairforce has proudly defended America’s freedoms since 1947. We honor the dedication of airmen and women, past and present, who keep our nation safe from above. Fly-Fight-Win.”
Later that day, he informed constituents about a service offered through his Bradenton office: “Do you want to celebrate an occasion and milestone with a Presidential Greeting? My Bradenton office is now available to assist with submissions and coordinate your requests directly with the White House! Call my team at (941) 951-6643 to request your greeting today.” This initiative allows residents to seek assistance in obtaining official greetings for significant occasions.
On September 19, 2025, Buchanan referenced new guidance from the Internal Revenue Service regarding tip income tax policy: “Today’s @IRSnews guidance showcases the wide range of jobs that will benefit from ‘No Tax on Tips,’ helping MILLIONS of Americans make ends meet. I was proud to lead the No Tax on Tips Act, passed into law within @HouseGOP’s Working Families Tax Cuts.”
Buchanan has served in Congress since replacing Katherine Harris in 2007 and previously held office in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Detroit in 1951 and currently residing in Sarasota, Buchanan holds degrees from Cleary University and the University of Detroit Mercy.
