Rep. Vern Buchanan, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 16th district since 2007, shared a series of tweets on June 8, 2025, discussing economic and legislative matters.
In his first tweet of the day, Buchanan highlighted economic improvements under President Trump’s administration. He stated that “Under President Trump, hardworking Americans are earning more, with wages increasing by nearly 4% over the last year.” He mentioned that the House GOP is collaborating with the President to implement pro-growth policies through what he termed as “One Big, Beautiful Bill.”
Later in the day, Buchanan addressed financial relief for families post-Biden administration inflationary pressures. He tweeted that “Families are finally getting the break they deserve after four years of Bidenflation.” According to him, this bill will provide median-income households with two children an additional $4,000 to $5,000 in take-home pay.
In his final tweet on June 8th, Buchanan focused on barriers faced by entrepreneurs with disabilities. He announced his support for legislation aimed at addressing these challenges: “I recently voted for the Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Reporting Act.” This act mandates a report from the SBA Administrator to Congress regarding difficulties encountered by disabled entrepreneurs.
Vern Buchanan was born in Detroit in 1951 and currently resides in Sarasota. He holds degrees from Cleary University and the University of Detroit Mercy.
