Rep. Vern Buchanan, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 16th district since 2007, recently highlighted the impact of the “One Big, Beautiful Bill” in a series of posts on his social media account.
On July 20, 2025, Buchanan stated that “CMS found 2.8 million individuals improperly enrolled in multiple Medicaid and ACA plans, costing taxpayers $14B annually. The ‘One Big, Beautiful Bill’ cracks down on fraud, strengthens benefits and restores integrity to our health care system.”
Later that day, he posted about the bill’s expected effects in Florida: “Florida is winning, and we’re just getting started. The ‘One Big, Beautiful Bill’ puts Florida first. In our state, we’ll see : $3,700–$6,800 wage boost 408,000 jobs protected No tax on tips or overtime” (July 20, 2025).
On July 21, Buchanan commented on national progress under current leadership: “Six months in and America is back. @POTUS has delivered the most secure border in history, record job growth, a strong economy, no taxes on tips or overtime and the ‘One Big, Beautiful Bill’. Promises made, promises kept. “
Buchanan has served as a member of Congress since replacing Katherine Harris in 2007 and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives. He was born in Detroit in 1951 and resides in Sarasota. Buchanan earned degrees from Cleary University and the University of Detroit Mercy.
