Some Hillsborough County utility customers have received phishing emails claiming their payments to Hillsborough County Public Utilities have been declined and directing them to click on a link to ensure services are not cancelled. The link takes users to a spoofed w
Customers who receive a payment declined email that appears to come from Hillsborough County should immediately delete it and not click on any embedded links. Customers are instead encouraged to connect to the County’s bill pay portal directly at HCFLGov.net/WaterBill or by phone at (813) 276-8526 to check their account status.
Any customers who may have acted on a suspected fraudulent email are asked to immediately change their account password and contact Hillsborough County Public Utilities Customer Call Center at (813) 272-6680 to report that their account may have been compromised.
